I was so lucky to get to Ohio for a really quick girls' weekend which consisted of shopping at the Memories Expo and Archiver's. Of course, lunch is always an important part of weekend.

This is my goddaughter. She's the best model, I've had her trained early! It's actually her brother's birthday, I should have used a photo of him! But her birthday is in 2 weeks, so I'll take one of him on her birthday...LOL!

So, I went to test drive a Subaru and a Saturn, but came home with an Audi! I think it was a little bit of an emotional purchase, my car starting on fire and all. I have never bought a car without a huge amount of thought....but, oh well, too late now!!!

This little baby is about to make her debut! She should be here in a few hours because Mommy is at the hospital now! Sarah came back to work after a doctor appointment today and said she was going in tonight, so i knew I better get a few maternity pictures .... now or never!

Day 74 - March 15

Yes, this is (was) my car. What a way to start a Monday! I parked my car as I usually do, went in the building, was there about 5 minutes when the clerk buzzed my room to say my car was steaming. I got outside to find the fire department putting out a fire! I was away from the car 8 minutes at the most! Needless to say, I am now in the market for a new car!

Day 73 - March 14

This is the 6 year old daughter of my good friends'. Today she was baptized. In this shot she is looking up at the pastor as he prepares her. I just loved the look on her face and chose it as my 365 picture.

So, this morning I dropped my camera and the lens popped off. Of course, my heart skipped a beat...and for a good reason. A little black piece broke off which prevented the lens from staying attached to the camera. After work I took the lens and camera to the only camera store in Charleston. Yes, the lens could be fixed..they'd send it Nikon for an estimate. Naturally, I just bought a new waaaaay upgraded lens!! 18-270 with vibration compensation. (I had 28-100mm lens) I know I could have gotten it much cheaper on line, but I really believe in supporting local businesses and this one is one of the best.

I HAD to try out the new lens, of course, on the way home. This is Wine Cellar Park near my home. Very unique and one of my favorite places to take portraits!

Day 70 - March 11

We took a group of very bright 8th grade girls to a local community college for Introduce Girls to Engineering Day. They did an awesome job, got to make homemade lip gloss and took part in a roller coaster competition, as you can see here. They did an fabulous job and impressed everyone!

Day 69 - March 10

I moved to my current home about 3 1/2 years ago. I left a beautiful white dogwood behind, one that I planted myself. Off my deck is this poor old diseased dogwood....I would love to cut it down and plant a new one, but it's not on my property.

Day 68 - March 9

It was a gorgeous, almost 70 degree day today! I had to get out! It's not safe to walk in my neighborhood, no sidewalks and cars going way too fast on a hilly, curvy road. So, I often drive over to the cemetery near my house to get a walk in....lots of hills, great workout, safe and really pretty! It's such a peaceful, well-cared for cemetery.

The house has not had fresh air for quite a few months. The first time I open the back door and put her chair there, Bella gets so excited. She loves just sitting and looking out the door and smelling the fresh air.

This lovely young lady was an algebra student of mine when she was in the 7th grade. Her mom owns the scrapbook store where I teach classes, so I've gotten to see her grow up to be a beautiful 16 year old.

Day 63 - March 4

 

So, it's getting late and I don't have a picture of the day...my little point and shoot is in my purse. We're still working, an hour after we should have left and it's late. What to do? Be like our students and take a goofy self-portrait! Thanks Kristen!!

This is where I have spent a good part of my adult life. I worked here for 14 years, left for 6 and have been back for 2. There is not other place on earth like it!
